Join us for Holy Week at Abiding Saviour Lutheran Church as we journey together through one of the most meaningful and transformative times in the Christian year.

Holy Week is different from typical Sunday worship because it invites us into the full story of Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection—not just as a message, but as an experience we walk through together. Each service carries its own unique tone and purpose, helping us move intentionally from celebration to reflection, from sorrow to hope, and ultimately to the joy of Easter.

Palm/Passion Sunday begins with celebration and remembrance, honoring Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem while also turning our attention toward the events of the cross. Maundy Thursday draws us into a more intimate setting, where we remember Jesus’ last supper with his disciples, share in the Lord’s Supper, and reflect on humility and service through rituals like foot washing or handwashing. Good Friday is a solemn Tenebrae service marked by scripture, silence, and diminishing light, inviting us to sit with the weight of the cross and the depth of Christ’s sacrifice. Finally, Easter Sunday bursts forth in joy and renewal as we celebrate the resurrection with worship, fellowship, and community traditions like breakfast and an egg hunt.

Throughout Holy Week, worship becomes more than a weekly gathering—it becomes a shared journey. The services are interconnected, guiding us through the emotional and spiritual movement of the gospel story in a way that deepens our understanding and faith. Each moment is designed to engage not only our minds, but also our hearts and senses, creating space for reflection, connection, and transformation.

We invite you, your family, and your friends to walk this journey with us. Come and experience Holy Week as a community where stories are shared, faith is deepened, and the hope of Easter is celebrated together!
